Greetings to all of you!
Sharing with you here, the journey of a 13 yr old Toyota Camy being restored to new, show-room condition. Please enjoy!
The car has been washed at this stage.
The passenger's side
Moving to the close-up pics to see the task at hand.
The True Color
Is it RED or PINK?a PINK PANTHER version rather!
Deep ones :(
Still more with the inspection light!
OMG! It hurts
It’s not easy to be a Camy!
Notice the dent, it needs filler and respray, it was rounded and made ess noticeable.
The lower sections were identical, road tar and plenty of bonded particles. These would taken care of by claying.
Water spots on glass
same everywhere on glass but difficult to capture on Cam. Here's another view, jush showing the look of neglect on a well kept car!
Let the pictures do the talking:
Car was clayed:
Roof was clayed to remove contaminants.
The paintwork lacked definition, it was dull.
Ready for fun now! Ready for turning pink into red...
Starting with the roof, this was the first section addresssed.
After compounding, but this will still need to be refined to a reflective gloss.
Not a full 50-50, but u get an idea of what the transformation is all about..
Inspecting for defects
The last touch....
Deep reflective RED shine restored...
The vertical panels
Correction of the vetical panels underway
Lights are important, more than we can imagine....
Needing further correction...
Need more refining
Some improvement :) thanks to Almighty.
Notice the differences in clarity in above pics. Paint correction takes time, a lot of time. period!
Overview on the passenger's side, refinement still needed.
The driver's side
The other side was worse
The pink flavor, dull and faded cowl, water spots
After plastic surgery.... whole new
After 4 days' work, here are the finishing pics
